Antonio is a Los Angeles based pop artist, who began his career doing comissioned busts and paintings for high profile clientele and major movie studios including Universal and Paramount.
Some of his past work in acrylic/Lucite includes an incredible realistic 3D sculpture of former President Ronald Reagan as well as the late multi Grammy award winning Pop icon Michael Jackson.
His latest mastepiece is a captivating 3D portrait of former President Donald Trump. This mind bending creation seems to fool the eyes at every turn with its multiple reflections from the faceted polished angles, like cuts in a diamond.
With the American flag behid him, the etched image of President Trump emerging from a granite like element, seems to almost interact with the viewer like a holographic image.
"I wanted to try to have the viewer and the subject almost be able to encounter each other"

Lucite is a tradename for acrylic, and was invented by the Dupont Corporation in 1931. It has a 93% transparency rate and is resistant to water and UV rays. It was the material of choice for WW II aircraft windows because of its strength and clarity.
In a clean room with an exhaust fan, acrylic monomer is poured and mixed with Lucite resin in the correct proportions. This thick, opaque, mixture is then poured into a mold and placed inside a pressurized and heated state-of-the-art autoclave oven and is left to harden overnight. The person carefully mixing the resin wears gloves, special hair and face coverings and an organic vapor mask when working with resin. Despite all these precautions taken, very occasionally, a couple of small airborne particles that would hardly be noticeable, could still be found inside any custom cast Lucite or acrylic product.
Lucite items can easily be cleaned by using a little liquid soap and water on a microfiber cloth. NEVER use any Ammonia or glass cleaner on Lucite. It will cause small surface cracks that only gets worse over time. This applies to any alcohol cleaner as well. Never use any abrasive cleaning solutions either.
The introductory selling price of this handcrafted Lucite sculpture is $6945.00. Prices are subject to change. Free shipping is included only in the continental USA. Sales Tax is only charged for any purchases made in California.
Any handcrafted acrylic sculpture might vary slightly in size from one another. Most of the photographs shown on this website are with the sculpture placed on a rotating lighted base in front of a plain dark background for best visibility. A few photos just show the sculpture in front of a backlit wall. The rotating lighted base is NOT included, however we can recommend where to buy them from.
Each sculpture is covered by a microfiber cloth which is then placed inside a heavy duty polybag. This is then placed inside heavy duty polyurethane foam material in a 17" X17" X7" box. This will ensure protection.
Please be careful when lifting up this heavy sculpture still inside the bag, from the foam material in the box. Place a towel or padding over a flat surface that can support about 20 lb. in weight, before removing it from the bag. Do not place this sculpture on any rough surface or it may get scratched.
We accept credit card payments through this website which is SSL certified for higher levels of online security and protection.
Each acrylic sculpture is first carefully inspected by the artist, and is then hand signed and dated by him. There is a limited supply on hand, so please check on availability.
We cannot ship this sculpture to any address with a PO Box. This sculpture is fully insured and can only be delivered to an address where someone will sign for it. All sales are final, no returns will be accepted and no refunds will be issued.
